This allows the frights are scarce and the subdued tension far away. The only surprising thing about ‘Demonic’ is that the plot jumps back and forth between two timelines. One follows the seance, the other the police investigation into the killings. Unfortunately, the setup allows for less rather than more stress. You know in advance about who survives and who does not and murder you only see on found footage frames, in vague, flickering black and white. Fat breakdown for the gore hounds so.
